1/31/17 Glider had been experiencing frequent aborts due to digifin errors. Aborts were mitigated by allowing an infinite number of digifin errors before aborting. UPDATE 4/10/2017: There is evidence of biofouling causing degraded steering and slow ascent rates. UPDATE 6/19/2017: Glider has aborted for same-depth and is presumed to have done so because of accumulating biomass. The glider is now adrift and has been placed into a low-power mode. Location will be monitored and will attempt to...

1/27/17 5/21/17 Glider will be recovered early due to limited battery endurance. All science sensors were turned off on 1/27/2017 to limit power usage. Recovery attempt currently being discussed for the IOS Line P cruise on the CCGS John P. Tully in Feb 2017. UPDATE 2/15/2017: Weather prevented a recovery attempt by the Tully. Recovery options are being considered for April/May. UPDATE 6/15/2017: Glider was recovered by R/V Sikuliaq on 5/21/2017

5/11/17 10/31/17 Lost communication with DCL35, on the MFN of CE06ISSM sometime after 2017/05/11 12:32:17.552. Suspect failed/corrupted SD card based on results of minicom session with DCL35 (see attached). With the exception of the VEL3D, all instruments hosted by DCL35 are autonomous. No further data should be expected from: ADCPT (recording internally) PRESF (recording internally) PC02W (recording internally) PHSEN (recording internally) VEL3D (offline)

This suggests that the DCLs and attached instruments are still operating, but communications to the system are offline, reason unknown. 11/29/15 5/9/16 The NUTNR on the NSIF for CE04OSSM is starting to show signs of biofouling (beginning on approximately 2015-11-29). Nitrogen data (NITROPT) from this date forward for the CE04OSSM-00001 deployment should be looked at carefully and considered as suspect.

5/8/17 5/18/17 CE07SHSP-00003 stopped for unknown reasons. It's last profile was 1pm PDT May 7. It had profiled twice a day for 22 days. CE02SHSM continues to communicate with CE02SHSP every 6 hours, so it remains tethered to the seafloor. Recovery and replacement are scheduled for May 18.

4/25/17 10/5/17 CE02SHSP-00006 reported that it had surfaced unexpectedly April 25 at 5:10 pm local time. Within a few hours I determined that it was still tethered to its anchor. It's beacon wasn't reporting either. We recovered the profiler and its anchor the following day. Data were sent to the profiler vendor and to CI. By April 28 we confirmed there was a firmware bug that had never been seen before. While scooching between two positions, the control canister thought the profiler was 20 cm below its...

12/27/16 There is evidence of ice build-up on the surface buoy tower during two recent storms. The METBK instruments stopped working briefly during cold stormy weather on 12/27/2016, and the buoy may have temporarily laid over. A second storm event on 1/5/2017 caused some gaps in data from GI01SUMO-SBD12-06-METBKA000. One of the wind turbines is not producing any power, which may be an indication that it is iced over. UPDATE 1/8/2017: Both wind turbines are disabled and may be iced over. UPDATE...
